TrustRoute
What TrustRoute collects, why, and how it's protected.
This Privacy Policy explains what information TrustRoute collects, why, and how it's protected. By using TrustRoute, you agree to the practices described here, in addition to our Terms & Conditions.
To provide a verified, safe carpooling experience, TrustRoute collects the following:
| Category | What's collected | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | Full name, phone number, official email address | Account creation and contact |
| Government ID | Aadhaar details, verified via a licensed third-party eKYC provider | Identity verification, so every member is a real, verified person |
| Driving credentials | Driving licence and vehicle RC (car owners only) | Verifying the vehicle and driver offering a ride |
| Profile | Photo, gender, employer (from verified email domain) | Trust signals shown to other users, and women-only ride matching |
| Location | Pickup/drop points you enter, and route data during an active trip | Route search, ETA calculation, and live trip sharing (only during a trip you choose to share) |
| Payment | Your UPI ID (VPA) | Displayed to a confirmed rider/owner so payment can be made directly — TrustRoute never processes or holds this payment |
| Usage & device data | App activity, device identifiers, crash logs | Keeping the app secure and working correctly |
We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or third parties.
We retain your account and trip data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, safety, and dispute-resolution needs. You can request account deletion at any time (see Section 6).
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted storage of sensitive credentials and restricted access to identity verification data. No system is completely secure, and we continuously work to strengthen these protections.
You can request to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Account deletion is available directly within the app, or by contacting us at the email below. Deleting your account removes your profile and personal data from active use, subject to any records we're legally required to retain.
TrustRoute is intended for users aged 18 and above and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
TrustRoute processes personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and identity verification is conducted through a licensed provider in compliance with the Aadhaar Act.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of TrustRoute after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
